The London Cycling Campaign have come up with this truck design to reduce the high numbers of fatalities associated with trucks. Current truck designs have huge areas that cannot be viewed by the driver. It's not a substitute for proper cycling infrastructure, but even in the Netherlands cyclists sometimes have to share the carriageway with trucks.
